One of a few female pitmasters in America, Winnie Yee’s style of cooking is rooted in Chinese Malaysian culture and translated through traditional American smoking techniques. Yee’s love affair with live fire cooking began with a small backyard barbecue business that blossomed into the widely acclaimed Smoke Queen Barbecue in Garden Grove, CA.
Now with the launch of her first cookbook, “Chinese American Barbecue,” Winne brings her BBQ without borders philosophy to Wynn’s event lawn for a feast of Asian-inflected slow-cooked BBQ specialties prepared by Winne on Wynn’s outdoor smoker alongside the resort’s executive chef of catering and banquets, Alberto Trujillo.
