Pick of the Week: BOA Steakhouse

Boa Steakhouse Back on the Vegas Strip

Las Vegas has more than 100 fine dining steakhouses, so one would need to pull out all the stops to stand apart from the rest. Such is the case with BOA Steakhouse at The Palazzo/Venetian.

The name BOA Steakhouse may sound familiar. It was a great addition to the Forum Shops at Caesars with a run of seven years before it closed in 2012. In October 2025, a little more than a dozen years after its closing, the L.A. institution returned to the Vegas Strip on the second level of the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian/Palazzo in the former space of Villa Azur near SushiSamba.

BOA is part of the Innovative Dining Group, with five other locations in Southern California, Napa, and Austin, and two more opening soon in Scottsdale and Mexico City. The Las Vegas outpost is decked out with numerous black walnut accents: a wood floor, wood walls, wood tables, wood bookcase shelves (holding travel books, vintage encyclopedias, and record albums), and a wood-slat ceiling. The modern elegant décor is rounded out with beige curtains, taupe-hued booths, live greenery, and “patio” seating ideal for people watching.

The kitchen is helmed by Executive Chef Alex Lopez, who grew up near Sacramento and is a 2008 graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. Chef has previously worked in Las Vegas kitchens, such as Executive Sous Chef at José Andrés’ E and as Executive Chef at Julian Serrano at ARIA.

Among the stars from the starters section of the menu are Baklava Goat Cheese with 21 layers of phyllo dough, pistachios, and black truffle goat cheese for a sweet and savory bite; Hamachi Crudo with preserved Meyer lemon, tiny celery leaves, and black truffle; and Caviar Cones with creamy potato, crème fraiche, and chives.

If you came here for the steaks, you won’t be disappointed. The lineup features BOA’s signature 30-day wet-aged and 15-day dry-aged cuts of NY and Ribeye, as well as Filet, Westholme Australian Wagyu, and Japanese A-5. Not that you’ll need them, but sauce enhancements include peppercorn, truffle, creamy horseradish, herb butter, Bearnaise, chimichurri, and BOA’s J1 with tamarind.

Besides the beef, there’s melt-in-your-mouth tender Chilean Seabass; Chicken Parmesan with pomodoro; and Gundagai Lamb Lollipops with spiced labneh and pomegranate molasses.

Some fun sides are the crispy Brussels Sprouts with chorizo, Crispy Fries fried in beef tallow, and mac and cheese that can be spruced up with truffle or lobster.

The Dessert menu has six choices, with the most interesting being the Valrhona Chocolate Crèmeux. A bit like a deconstructed sundae, it’s a chocolate lover’s dream with chocolate mousse, Chantilly cream, chocolate meringue, chocolate soil, chocolate sorbet, milk crunch, waffle cone, and chocolate sauce, which can be topped with an ignited sparkler for special occasions.

You can pair your meal with a wide selection of wines hailing from around the globe, including Napa, Sonoma, France, Italy, Australia, Spain, Argentina, and Israel. There’s also an extensive spirits list and specialty cocktails like the Fashion Forward with Toki Japanese Whisky, grilled orange, and Angostura bitters.

Lunch is served Friday-Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes several items also found on the dinner menu, plus lunch-only selections such as double-stacked Wagyu Smash Burger; Spaghetti & Wagyu Meatballs; and Cobb Salad loaded with poached chicken, bacon lardons, avocado, roasted beets, hard-boiled egg, and buttermilk herb dressing.

Brunch is served Saturday-Sunday from 11:30 to 3 p.m. and has a handful of special dishes like Huevos Rancheros, Eggs Benedict “Oscar,” Avocado Toast, and Tres Leches French Toast.

This latest rendition of BOA Steakhouse in a city with a wealth of steakhouses has found a way to stand out, with photogenic décor and food backed up with flavors that live up to the beauty. For more info and to view the complete menus, visit boasteak.com/las-vegas-location.
