Lotus of Siam Returns to Sahara Avenue

One of Las Vegas’ most influential restaurants is returning to its roots. Lotus of Siam will reopen its original Sahara Avenue location Friday night, unveiling a refreshed version of the iconic restaurant along with a new cocktail concept called Naam Jai Bar & Lounge.

Originally opened in 1999, the family-run restaurant helped introduce many Las Vegas locals and visitors to Northern Thai cuisine and was recognized nationally. Chef Saipin Chutima received a James Beard Award for Best Chef Southwest, and the restaurant’s fans included Anthony Bourdain and Jonathan Gold.

The reopening blends nostalgic touches with new additions, including an expanded beverage program, a 6,000-bottle wine cellar, and Naam Jai, a bar focused on cocktails featuring Thai ingredients and seasonal infusions.

The opening menu features both signature dishes and throwback favorites from the restaurant’s early years, such as Crispy Garlic Prawns.

The restaurant is operating with a limited menu, Wednesdays through Sunday, to start. Additional offerings (including Khao Soi, Stuffed Chicken Wings, and Kang Hung Lay pork belly curry) will roll out over the coming weeks.

Reservations are available through OpenTable.
