Pick of the Week: Nudo Italiano Launches Weekend Brunch

Nudo Italiano, the newest Southern Highlands neighborhood restaurant from Michael Morton and Jenna Morton, has introduced a new weekend brunch.

Available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, Chef William DeMarco’s new brunch standouts include:

  • Prosciutto Benedict with arugula, poached egg, and Hollandaise
  • Short Rib Hash with fingerling potatoes, sunny side egg, béarnaise, and arugula
  • Frittata with fontina, mozzarella, pancetta, onion, and tzatziki
  • Pane Caprese con Avocado, a twist on the classic avocado toast with avocado, roasted cherry tomato, burrata, pickled red onion, and balsamic
  • Uova Cornetto, a buttery croissant filled with scrambled eggs, kale, mushrooms, and caramelized onion
  • Chicken Parmesan Panini with burrata, basil, and tomato
  • Tiramisu Pancakes with espresso vanilla cream, ladyfingers, and cocoa powder
  • French Toast Bread Pudding with poached peaches and macadamia nut

The Prosciutto Benedict stands out from other Benedicts. It’s placed atop house-made focaccia bread spread out into one large piece rather than the traditional duo of English muffins, which is a major upgrade; and the Hollandaise sauce (Chef DeMarco’s secret recipe) is likewise an upgrade, as it’s less lemony and more savory than many.

It’s especially pleasant this time of the year, when weather permits opening the front wall to make it feel like al fresco dining throughout the room. Another great time to come will be on November 26 (the day before Thanksgiving), which will be a Friendsgiving celebration offering happy hour all night long in the bar and lounge (4 p.m. to close) with pizzas and spritzes for $9 each; $4 draft beers; and $8 pours of rosé, red, white and sparkling wine.
